Digitizing:

    Definition--
What does that strange word "digitizing" mean?  Digitizing begins with taking artwork supplied by you and creating it into a stitch file which will then be read by an embroidery machine.  Many times I am asked if the digitizing process is completely automated -- does that one-click of the mouse create a beautiful embroidery file?  The answer is No!

Process--
It all begins with your artwork.  Beginning with quality artwork can make the difference is great embroidery or not so great embroidery.  Vector artwork is preferred.

The next step is evaluating the artwork to see if it can be used as is for embroidery.  Unfortunately, not all logos that have been created for print media can be created into embroidery without some type of modification.  Typical edits may include increasing the size of fonts or removing very narrow outlines.

Once the artwork has been examined and modifications made where necessary, an artist (also known as a digitizer) studies the logo for proper pathing of the design.  Pathing includes how the design will stitch from beginning to end.  Proper pathing is critical to how well a design will stitch out because it is the foundation.  Poor pathing is noticeable in unwanted gaps in fabric or poor registration in fonts.

Next is to decide what stitch types are to be used and where in the design.  Underneath each of the different stitch types is underlay.  Underlay stitches do a couple of things.  First, it adheres the material to the stabilizer.  Next, it creates lift so that the stitches sit on top of the garment.  Having no underlay is bad because stitches can sink into the fabric and registration problems can be created by the lack of underlay stitches.  Determining stitch types, underlay, stitch angles, density, push and pull, and what the design will be stitched on is all taken into consideration during the creation of the embroidery.

The last step, which we consider just as important as the first step, is the sew out of the design.  This ensures that the design will stitch properly and that decisions made on earlier steps were in fact the best decisions.  It is not uncommon to sew multiple stitch outs depending on the material the customer has chosen.  This ensures that your logo is the best it can be.

A well digitized design will reinforce the image you want!

Artists--
Our artists have years of industry experience.  Many of them have owned their own shops and had
lots of training by some of the top instructors and digitizers in the commercial embroidery world.  Their ongoing training, diligence in constantly striving to learn new techniques, and volunteering to be beta testers for commercial embroidery software companies keep them at the top of their profession.

What does this mean for you?  Three things -- quality, quality, and quality.  We ensure that your particular digitizing project is completed professionally and will run efficiently.  This ensures your satisfaction on each design, and if necessary, we will redo your design until you are completely satisfied.

Turnaround Time--
Our standard turnaround time is two to three days.  Don't be fooled by the sites that state quick turnaround times of 24 hours or less.  Very few digitizers create efficient well designed projects in such a short time frame.  Your logo or project is important to you and us, and we do not believe in shorting you on quality just to be fast.

Price--
To keep customers coming back, we know that price is an extremely important factor when choosing a digitizer.  We keep our prices competitive without sacrificing quality.  We are confident that once you use our digitizing services, you will always want to receive the highest quality product.

NEW Pricing Structures Available:  We now have three levels to choose from when determining the level of service you desire.  Gold (maximum detail), Silver (moderate detail), and Bronze (economic alternative).

Thank you for considering our digitizing services.  We hope this information will make your company one of our lifelong customers.
